Devices

Load the GPX on a Garmin.

Download the track from the map, then get the file onto the device. Exact menus vary by model; the file type does not: it is a GPX 1.1 track.

USB mass storage

  • Plug the Garmin into your computer.
  • Open the device drive and find a `GPX` or `NewFiles` folder (names differ by series).
  • Copy the `.gpx` file there, eject, and turn the device on.
  • Open the saved tracks or courses list and select the new file.

Garmin Connect / BaseCamp

Import the GPX into BaseCamp or Garmin Connect, then send it to the device. If the import picker asks for track vs course, choose track.

Phone apps (Gaia, WorkOutDoors, many others) usually have an “Open GPX” or share-sheet import. The same file works.
